For July we bring you the winner of our audience vote for this season celebrating the work of legendary director Steven Spielberg, Catch Me If You Can (12, 2002). Based on the true story of Frank Abagnale Jr (played by Leonardo DiCaprio), a con man who poses as a pilot, doctor and lawyer and cashes forged cheques worth millions, all before his 21st birthday. He is constantly pursued by tenacious FBI agent Carl Hanratty (played by Tom Hanks). A stylish comedy drama set in the 1960s, it’s a great film!

The future of Lenham Film Club
We’re extremely sad to have to confirm to you that Lenham Film Club will cease to operate at the end of the current season. Our September 2026 performance will be our final film.
The club has continued over the years as some team members have left and others have joined. However, our team now faces significant changes; our Chair and Secretary, are leaving the village and several others on our team are no longer in a position to contribute as they once did. We’re very grateful for the support of the new team members who have joined us recently, however, there are simply not enough people on the team to carry out the many tasks that are necessary to keep the club running every month. We’ve tried to resolve this problem for some time. Despite requests for more volunteers and despite exploring a number of avenues to see if others would take on running the club, we’ve not been able to get the required assistance.
The club began in February 2019 and even though we had to take an enforced break due to Covid, we’ve put on 73 performances to date! We’re very grateful to everyone who has come along and supported the club over the last 7 years.
